MMI Preparatory School Mission Statement
To provide dedicated area students with a comprehensive and inspiring 6th-12th grade college preparatory program that maximizes each individual's academic, social, and character potential in preparation for success in college and beyond.
MMI’s Mission Statement expresses the core values upon which the school operates today.
"MMI is more than just textbooks,” says MMI President Tom Hood. "We’ve developed a supportive, family atmosphere of companionship and friendship that makes MMI a fantastic part of the lives of everyone who learns, teaches, and works here.”
MMI Vice President Jaclyn Fowler states the school’s atmosphere and small class sizes are important factors when it comes to students’ grades. "Students want to feel safe and secure. They want their teacher to be interesting, fun, and adaptive. They want to be challenged. They want to be understood and appreciated as a person. They want to be part of something that is truly unique. And I believe that’s what MMI offers,” Fowler says.
MMI Director of Admissions Kim McNulty sees firsthand the impression MMI makes on families. "I have welcomed numerous families on visits to MMI, and they are always pleasantly surprised to find essentially a small, pre-college campus. Both parents and prospective students have consistently positive reactions. They enjoy how friendly our students are. They are impressed by the effort we place on creating a challenging curriculum that prepares our students for college success. They are thankful that our teachers are open, welcoming, and responsive to the students’ needs,” McNulty said.
When they first set foot upon MMI, many visitors remark how similar the school feels to a small college campus. Indeed, the students, teachers, and staff enjoy a sense of inspiration, comfort, and safety here.
