Thomas G.Hood
 

Thomas G. Hood became MMI Preparatory School’s President in August 2008, upon the retirement of William A. Shergalis. Mr. Hood had previously served as MMI's Vice President for two years beginning in the summer of 2006.

 

Mr. Hood joined the MMI Administration after a 22-year career in the United States Army, including four years as an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point.  He is a 1986 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  He attended basic flight training and qualified as a helicopter pilot.  During his military career, Mr. Hood served in various command and staff roles, as well as serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Mr. Hood and his wife, Mary-Lee, reside in Freeland.  They have four children.  His son Tom is a recent graduate of Penn State while his daughter Emeline is a senior at the United States Military Academy at West Point.  Both will serve their country in the Army upon graduation from college.  Billy is a member of MMI’s Class of 2009 and also attends Penn State.  Cathy is currently enrolled at MMI and will garduate in May, 2011.
