Students interested in enrolling in MMI must take the MMI Admissions Entrance Exam. Students currently in the fifth through 10th grades are eligible to take the exam. This comprehensive Entrance Examination assesses general ability (verbal and quantitative), reading comprehension, and mathematic achievement.
Exam results also determine whether the student is eligible for an MMI Academic Excellence Award. This $750 scholarship is just one form of aid that MMI offers to help defray tuition costs. There are two criteria for a new student to earn this award. First, the student must score at or above the 95th percentile on one of the ability portions of the exam (Quantitative or Verbal). Second, the student must score at or above the 95th percentile on one of the two achievement tests (Reading or Math). (This Scholarship is not given to sixth-grade students.) In addition to the merit award, a total of 150 students received $900,350 in need-based financial aid for an average award of $6,002 per student for the 2010-11 academic year.
MMI will be offering only one Entrance Exam for admission to the 2011-12 academic year on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. There is a $25 exam and application fee that can be paid on the morning of the exam. Registration for the examination is encouraged, but not required. To register, call Kim McNulty, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, at 570-636-1108 or email kmcnulty@mmiprep.org.
