The Preppers' baseball team plays 20 games annually, calling the Drifton Babe Ruth Field home. The squad has veteran coaches in Head Coach Emmett Thomas and Assistant Coach Chris Flanagan. Competing in the Wyoming Valley Conference, the baseball team advanced to the PIAA Play-offs in 1988, 1994, and 2009. The 2009 team beat rival Wyoming Seminary, 13-4, in the first round of Districts before falling to State Runner-Up Lackawanna Trail High School.
With the 2009 team consisting of only freshmen and sophomores, the 2010 season featured an experienced squad with every player having at least two years varsity experience. The team is led from the mound by senior Zack Haupt and junior Danny Yencha, with junior Fran Swankoski handling catching duties. Both of these former juniors, now seniors, will be leaders on the team for the 2011 season. All three players are also leading hitters on the team. Seniors Zack Haupt, Connor McNelis, Paul Blanner, Matt Farrell, Jared Hinkle, and Tony Carrato graduated at the end of the season. The season ended witha 5-14 season that many are looking to improve upon in the 2011 season.
