MMI Preparatory Gymnasium
From I-81 to Route 309
1. Take I-81 South to Exit 155, Dorrance
2. Turn left at end of exit ramp. Go 3/10 miles to stop sign at "T” intersection
3. Turn right and go up hill 8/10 miles to stop sign at intersection with Route 309
4. Turn right and follow Route 309 South for 4.4 miles to traffic light at bottom of hill. (Uni-Mart on right. Road is not marked, but it is the "Freeland-Drums Road”)
5. Turn left at light and go up hill for 4 miles to traffic light at Centre Street
6. Turn right onto Centre Street and go 2/10 miles.
7. School is on right; Parking lot is on left across the street. (Bus may pull off the road in front of school to unload)
8. School’s main entrance is through gate; Gym entrance is on the right of the main entrance.
I-81 to I-80 to Route 3091. Follow I-81 to Exit 151A
2. Take I-80 East, towards Stroudsburg, for 2 miles
3. Take I-80 to Exit 262 (Route 309/Mountaintop/Hazleton)
4. Take 309 South for 2.8 miles to second traffic light
5. Turn left at light and travel 4 miles to traffic light at Centre Street
6. Turn right and travel 2/10 miles to school on right
From I-80 (follow either directions)
Option 1: Get off I-80 at Exit 262 (Route 309/Mountaintop/Hazleton)
Follow above directions for Route 309 South
Option 2: Get off I-80 at Exit 273 (Route 940/White Haven/Freeland)
1. Follow 940 West about 10 miles to traffic light
2. Turn left and travel 2/10 mile to school on right
From N.E. Extension of the PATurnpike
1. Get off at Pocono Exit (Exit 95) and get on I-80 West
2. Take I-80 West to Exit 262 or I-80 West to Exit 273
3. Follow above directions from I-80.
From Route 309 South (from Wilkes-Barre area)
1. Follow Route 309 South to Crestwood High School.
2. Continue on Route 309 South for 10.6 miles past Crestwood High School, to traffic light.
3. Turn left and go up hill for 4 miles to traffic light at Centre Street.
4. Turn right onto Centre Street and go 2/10 miles.
5. School is on right; Parking lot is on left across the street. (Bus may pull off the road in front of school to unload)
6. School’s main entrance is through gate; Gym entrance is on the right of the main entrance.
MMI Preparatory School Tennis Courts
The MMI Tennis Courts are located behind the school on Ridge Street. Either use the main parking lot and walk around the main building, or follow these preferred directions:
1. Coming from 309, turn right 1 block before traffic light at Centre Street (This will be Ridge Street).
2. Coming from the East on Route 940, turn 1 block after the light at Centre Street.
3. Turn onto Ridge Street at the brick "factory looking” building. Travel 2/10 miles on Ridge Street to Tennis courts on right (school will be on your Left)
MMI Preparatory School Junior High Softball Fields
1. Follow directions to school’s main entrance and continue on Centre Street for about 1/10 mile.
2. Turn left off Centre Street as it bears hard right. Field will be directly in front of you-Centre Street curves around the field.
MMI Preparatory School Varsity Baseball and Softball Fields (Drifton Babe Ruth and Drifton Softball Complex)
1. Follow directions to school’s main entrance.
2. Continue on Centre Street (Route 940 West) for 1.2 miles. Just as you pass the Episcopal Church on the right, you will see a Pepsi sign on the left for "Drifton Softball Complex”.
3. Turn right here onto Sophia Coxe Drive. Part way up this road, you must turn left to get to Babe Ruth Baseball field.
4. For softball field, continue straight up Sophia Coxe Drive to the softball parking lot.
5. MMI plays on Field #4. (Baseball and softball fields are also accessible from Coal Miner Drive)
MMI Preparatory Cross-Country Course
(The team runs at Valley Elementary/Middle School near Conyngham)
1. I-81 South or 309 South to I-80 West (Bloomsburg)
2. Take I-80 West to Exit 256 (Route 93)
3. Left off exit onto Route 93 South
4. Follow 93 South 3 miles to 2nd traffic light.
5. Turn right and travel 1/2 mile to VEMS on the right.
MMI Preparatory School Golf Course
(The team plays at Valley Country Club)
1. Follow I-81 South to exit 145 (West Hazleton & Route 93).
2. Take exit ramp straight to stop sign, toward "Conyngham”.
3. Turn right at stop sign and go to traffic light.
4. Go straight across highway (Susquehanna Boulevard/Route 93), through the traffic light and down the steep 2 lane road to the left.
5. Follow road into Country Club parking lot. Do not take this route with a school bus!
(For School bus or car/van)
1. Follow Route 309 South to Crestwood High School.
2. Continue on Route 309 South for 10.6 miles past Crestwood High School, to traffic light at bottom of hill. Uni-Mart will be on your right.
3. Continue through this traffic light for 1.1 miles and turn right onto West Foothills Drive.
4. Follow this road 2 miles to stop sign. Continue through this stop sign for another 2.3 miles to Country Club entrance on Left.
5. Turn left and follow road up the hill to the Country Club parking lot.
MMI Preparatory School Boys' Soccer Field (Played at Hazle Township Community Park GHYSA Fields)
From Route I-81
1. Get off at Exit 145 (West Hazleton/Route 93)
2. Continue to bear right off the exit to get onto Route 93 South
3. Continue on 93 South for 1.3 miles to the 5th traffic light.
4. You will pass Penn State-Hazleton (2nd traffic light) and the Laurel Mall (4th traffic light)
5. Turn left into Hazle Township Community Park. PNC Bank, Nathan’s Furniture, and Berger Family car dealership are all at this intersection
6. Travel straight for 3/10 mile through 3 stop signs, into the parking lot.
7. Fields will be off to the right of the parking lot
From Route 309 (from Wilkes-Barre area)
1. Travel approximately 13 miles past Crestwood High School
2. Turn right onto Airport Beltway
3. Sheetz will be on your left on the Beltway
4. Follow Airport Beltway for 1.2 miles
5. Turn left at Laurel Professional Building
6. Take this 2 lane road 6/10 mile into the parking lot.
7. Fields will be straight ahead and down the hill.
From Route 309 (from south of Hazleton)
1. Follow Route 309 North and go through downtown Hazleton (309 will be Church Street through Hazleton).
2. You will start going up hill, and an old hospital building will be on your right at the top of the hill.
3. Continue down the hill and through a business strip on 309, going through 3 traffic lights. You will turn left onto Airport Beltway at the 4th traffic light. Sheetz will be on the left.
4. Follow Airport Beltway for 1.2 miles
5. Turn left at Laurel Professional Building
6. Take this 2 lane road 6/10 mile into the parking lot.
7. Fields will be straight ahead and down the hill.
MMI Preparatory School Girls Soccer Field (Played at Hazleton Area High School Raider’s Field)
From I-81 to Route 309 (from the North)
1. Take I-81 South to Exit 155, Dorrance
2. Turn left at end of exit ramp. Go 3/10 miles to stop sign at "T” intersection
3. Turn right and go up hill 8/10 miles to stop sign at intersection with Route 3094.
4. Turn right and follow Route 309 South for about 6–7 miles. When you come to the traffic light at McDonald’s, travel .3 miles further. You will see a Jack Williams Tire store.
5. Turn right at Jack Williams Tire toward Hazleton Area High School. Travel through 3 stop signs. Immediately after the 3rd stop sign, you will turn right onto North Clinton Court. This will be immediately after the two buildings on the corner at the 3rd stop sign.
6. The field will be a short distance down this alley.
From I-81 (North or South of Hazleton)
1. I-81 North to Exit 145 (West Hazleton/Route 93)
2. Bear right off the ramp onto Route 93 South
3. Travel to the 6th or 7th traffic light (Shopping Center with Lowe’s and Weis). At this light, you need to be in the left turn lane.
4. Turn left and follow the road downhill to the stop sign.
5. Turn right at the stop sign and follow the road through several stop signs and past the Hazleton High School buildings.
6. You will pass the high school track on your left, and then a cemetery. Go to the next stop sign and turn left.
7. The parking lot will be on your left. You will see the field down the hill slightly, below the cemetery.
From Route 309 (from Wilkes-Barre area)
1. Travel approximately 14 miles past Crestwood High School
2. When you come to the traffic light at McDonald’s, travel .3 miles further. You will see a Jack Williams Tire store. Turn right at Jack Williams Tire toward Hazleton Area High School.
3. Travel through 3 stop signs. Immediately after the 3rd stop sign, you will turn right onto North Clinton Court. This will be immediately after the two buildings on the corner at the 3rd stop sign.
4. The field will be a short distance down this alley.
From Route 309 (South of Hazleton)
1. I-81 North to Exit 141 (Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Beltway) to Route 309 North.
2. Follow 309 north several miles, going through downtown Hazleton.
3. After crossing Route 93/Broad Street, travel to the 5th traffic light. There will be a Rite-Aid drug store on the left at this intersection.
4. After going through the traffic light, immediately get into the left lane.
5. Make the first left onto 23rd Street (Jack Williams Tire store)
6. Travel to the 3rd stop sign.
7. At the stop sign, turn right. The parking lot will be on your immediate left. Park in the lot and walk a short distance to the field.
From I-81 to Route 309
1. Take I-81 South to Exit 155, Dorrance
