Heading into her eighth season as head coach of the Lady Preppers' varsity basketball team, Patty Medvecky expects continued growth and development in 2010-11. After one season without a JV program, a strong group of younger players will bolster the team and will figure prominently in the near future for MMI's girls basketball program.
After losing veteran players, Lanie Titus, Caitlyn Ferry, and Alyson Klush, Brittany Purcell will lead the team as the experienced senior. It will be a rebuilding year for the Lady Preppers with lots of strong 9th graders joining.
The girls play in the Wyoming Valley Conference and the inaugural season for girls basketball was in 1995-96. Jodi Washinsky (1995-99) surpassed the 1000-point plateau during her tenure with the Lady Preppers, the first and only one to have done so since the program's inception.
