"I believe that students build a good foundation in Spanish at MMI, but should continue studying the language in college with the goal of mastering the language. Studying language and culture makes for a better understanding of other peoples and other cultures. By doing so, each student can represent the United States in promoting better understanding.

'He who wishes to teach us a truth should not tell it to us, but simply suggest it with a brief gesture, a gesture which starts an ideal trajectory in the air along which we glide until we find ourselves at the feet of the new truth.' --Jose Ortega Y Gasset, Meditations on Quixote

On a personal level, I began the Pablo Picasso Chapter of the Spanish Honor Society and the Mock Trial program here at MMI, and serve as the advisor to both groups. I serve as the President of the Northeastern, PA Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.  I am also an assistant coach with the boys' and girls' cross country teams at MMI during the fall season.  All three of my daughters have attened MMI, with the youngest graduating in 2008"
