Anticipated Faculty Positions for the 08-09 Academic YearMMI Preparatory School, located in Freeland, PA, seeks applicants for the following anticipated positions for the 08-09 academic year. MMI Preparatory School is an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational college preparatory day school that fosters academic achievement, personal growth and a commitment to community service through development of intellectual inquiry, critical thinking and sound judgment. The enrollment is approximately 260 students in grades 6-12. The school is traditional in its approach and usually 100% of the graduating seniors continue their education. College CounselorThis full time position will begin August 1 unless otherwise negotiated. Duties include, but are not limited to advising students regarding college including majors, admission requirements, entrance exams, and financial aid as well as helping students in grades 6-12 to understand and deal with social, behavioral, and personal problems. The successful candidate will have experience in college admissions or high school college counseling, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines. They should be able to interact with students individually, in small groups, or as an entire class and consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to develop and implement strategies to help students succeed. The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in counseling or a related field, familiarity with the goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school; the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse and demanding student and parent population; knowledge of colleges, their academic programs, admission policies, and financial policies and procedures.
