Geochemistry-Pennsylvania State University Ph.D. Geochemistry-Pennsylvania State University “Physics and math support the technology that is integrated into everyday life. There are also many pressing environmental and social concerns such climate change, pollution, water quality, and transportation which affect where we live and how we live; understanding the science behind these issues will help in making better decisions and perhaps lead to careers in these areas. My goal is to prepare students for their college studies with solid quantitative skills and expose them to a variety of careers and important applications of math and science. I joined the MMI faculty in the summer of 2007 after 14 years at Michigan Technological University, in Houghton, MI. I taught courses in Environmental Geology, Volcanology, Remote Sensing, and Natural Hazard Mitigation. Prior to teaching at Michigan Technological University, I was a research scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD. On a personal side, I currently live in Mountain Top, with three children attending MMI. My hobbies include running, triathlons, hockey, gardening and woodworking.”
