“Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow.” Aesop

”To me, education is all about going after your dreams and aspirations. One must always strive toward a goal in order to achieve success. At MMI, I attempt to help students realize their goals and dreams as they persevere in their daily duties at our school. Throughout our lives, we encounter many falsified obstacles, but if we learn to maintain a dignified and palpable path, our successes will be many. For MMI students, going after the substance does not seem to be a problem; they are prepared for life and strive to succeed.

“Sometimes it's necessary to go a long distance out of the way in order to come back a short distance correctly.” Edward Albee

Interestingly enough, I travel about a half an hour to arrive at MMI each day. What amazes me about the faculty and students at MMI is their undying commitment to education and the betterment of self. The campus is a very conducive learning environment and the people who make up MMI appear to be motivated for success. It is remarkable that a place like MMI exists, even though I have to travel the distance to find something that is so worthwhile. MMI – it radiates a sense of pride and accomplishment, and I hope to be able to enhance that environment.

“The future influences the present just as much as the past.” Friedrich Nietzsche

As a teacher, I try to teach my students that goals are of the utmost importance. However, in order to achieve what we lay out for ourselves, we must always remember that every action has a reaction. In terms of character education, I believe that it is my duty as an educator to form community conscious students and allow them to see the bigger picture. At MMI, I believe it has been the trend to establish students as responsible students and citizens. This, in turn, allows them to be successful in their futures.

Nietzsche’s statement describes perfectly MMI’s mission. I feel that parents and students who support MMI find that they will achieve their goals with each and every foundational brick they lay here at MMI. This is a testament to the true value of education. We expect more from our students at MMI, only to allow them to see that there is more for them out there in the world.”
