National Junior And Latin Honor Society Inductions held PDF Print E-mail

Students from MMI Preparatory School were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and the National Latin Honor Society (NLHS) at ceremonies held recently at the school in Freeland.

Barbro Anthony, MMI faculty member and NJHS chapter advisor, accepted the students into the NJHS, while faculty member Reverend Lawrence Barriger accepted the NLHS students and offered the closing remarks.

MMI President William A. Shergalis, Ph.D., said, “These honor societies recognize the hard work and academic accomplishments of some of the finest students in the country. To have these MMI students inducted here tonight speaks highly of the ability of MMI’s students and faculty, especially in our middle school.”

MMI Vice President Thomas Hood said students accepted into these honor societies reflect the ideals of scholarship. “Whether inducted into the National Junior Honor Society or the National Latin Honor Society, these students are representative of someone who is striving to achieve the best academically while attending MMI Prep School. I congratulate each one of them for having earned this honor tonight.”   

Members and officers of the honor societies presented the criteria for membership prior to the induction ceremony. NJHS members presenting the criteria were chapter officers Courtney Bogansky, president; Jacob Daniels, vice president; Amanda Miller, treasurer; and Megan Beggs, secretary. Music was provided by student pianist Jacob Daniels.

The inductees of the National Junior Honor Society are: Caroline Bandurska, daughter of Wojciech and Boguslawa Bandurska, Freeland; Paul Brasavage, son of Mark and Bernadette Brasavage, Freeland; Roderick Cook, son of Brian and Melissa Cook, Coaldale; Antonia Diener, daughter of Ian and Emeline Diener, Pocono Lake; Brittany Fisher, daughter of Kyo Fisher, Freeland; Tyler Fulton, son of Rachel Fulton, Freeland; Harley Gliem, son of Lynn Gliem, St. Johns, and James Gliem, Drums; Andrea Lara, daughter of Guillermo and Sandra Lara, Hazleton; Michael Macarevich, son of Brian and Carol Macarevich, Drifton;  Christian Parsons, son of Brian and Jessica Jacobs, Kelayres; Brianna Simpkins, daughter of Steven and Michele Simpkins, Drums; Annika Wessel, daughter of Dierk and Andrea Wessel, Drums.
