MMI Sophomore Selected for Leadership Seminar |

Robert Yamulla, a sophomore at MMI Preparatory School, Freeland, has been selected to represent MMI at the annual Central Pennsylvania Leadership Seminar for Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY).
Robert Yamulla, a sophomore at MMI Preparatory School, Freeland, has been selected to represent MMI at the annual Central Pennsylvania Leadership Seminar for Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY). He will be the school’s ambassador at the four-day event, May 15-18, at Millersville University. The seminar’s purpose is to recognize and develop leadership potential in outstanding sophomores. For the past 50 years, HOBY Leadership Seminars have brought together select groups of high school sophomores to interact with groups of distinguished leaders in business, government, and education to discuss present and future issues in an enthusiastic learning environment. HOBY was founded by movie and stage actor Hugh O’Brian in 1958 after he visited with Dr. Albert Schweitzer in Africa Yamulla is a consistent honor roll and President’s List student. He placed first and has won an excellence award in the regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition. At MMI Yamulla is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and a member of Hazleton and Wilkes Barre Junior Leadership. He is a member of the Robotics team, ski club, a contributor to the school newspaper, PrepTalk. He serves as a peer tutor and volunteers for the American Cancer Society and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Yamulla is the son of Robert and Ann Yamulla, Sugarloaf. |
