Armed Security Guard
Mr. Anthony Samsel joined MMI as a part-time Armed Security Guard in 2026, bringing more than 35 years of military and federal corrections experience to the School. He spent 28 years with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he served as a Senior Officer Specialist, Senior Corrections Officer, and Corrections Officer. During his career, he was responsible for maintaining security and inmate accountability, ensuring safety and welfare, enforcing policies and procedures, and responding to emergency situations.
Mr. Samsel held a variety of positions within the Federal Bureau of Prisons, including Special Housing Unit Officer, Control Room Officer, Front Lobby Officer, Visiting Room Officer, Rear Gate Officer, and Unit Officer. His responsibilities included conducting searches, maintaining accurate records, supervising activities and visitation, conducting roll calls and head counts, and responding to medical emergencies as needed. Prior to his career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Mr. Samsel served eight years in the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan, and at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Mr. Samsel’s extensive background in military policing, corrections, security, and emergency response provides MMI with valuable experience as he helps ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
