After MMI, Karalyn continued her education at Immaculata University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising with minors in Buying, Marketing, and Data Analytics. Throughout college, she maintained a 3.84 GPA, while playing not one, but two college sports. Karalyn ran both cross country in the fall and track in the spring, filling up her school year with traveling, practicing, and competing in addition to her coursework.

While at Immaculata, Karalyn had the opportunity to further her studies by participating in a two-week competitive summer residency program at Drexel University’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design. Through Immaculata’s Emerging Leaders program, she also supplemented her class load with courses offered by the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

After graduation, Karalyn spent a year working as an Assistant Buyer at Burlington Stores, driving product development and merchandising strategy. She planned the largest vendor assortment in crafting category for the Spring 2022 season, utilizing skills in critical communication, negotiation, and management. In her short time there, she was named a “One in a Million” award recipient and a Laura Geller Industry Challenge corporate winner.

In her senior year of college, Karalyn had excelled in an internship at QVC. Her hard work there paid off, because when a position opened up in 2021, QVC hired her back, and she’s thrived there ever since. In her current position as Senior Assistant Buyer, Karalyn manages product strategy for a $300+ million business segment, leads omnichannel brand presence across TV, digital, and social platforms, and is responsible for assortment planning, vendor negotiations, and sales performance analysis.

In addition to her hard work and determination, what makes Karalyn stand out is her incredible character. In the pursuit of academic and professional excellence, she has remained kind and supportive to those around her. In every community she’s been a part of, Karalyn has left a lasting impact.

While Karalyn is a shining example of an MMI alum, she’s not alone. Her family is deeply rooted in our School. Her sisters, Krystle Baker ’02 and Kaitlin Sitch ’14, along with her brother, Mark Sitch ’18, are all MMI alumni. Kaitlin is also a member of the inaugural class of Distinguished Young Alumni, making Karalyn the second member of the family to receive this recognition.
