Head of School Mrs. Theresa Long and Assistant Head of School Mrs. Marci Hosier kicked off the morning with big smiles and balloon-arch greetings for all 190 Preppers.
MMI Preparatory School started its 2025-2026 school year on Tuesday, August 26, by welcoming 190 new and returning students. In addition to a completely cleaned and refreshed school building, students returned to newly painted stairs, hallways, and restrooms; a complete facility cabling upgrade for enhanced wireless connectivity across campus; a new sink and cabinetry to enhance classroom functionality for 7th and 8th grade mid-school science students; a refreshed and relocated faculty lounge, and upgraded designs on MMI’s two school vans featuring a refreshed logo and new photos.
Head of School Mrs. Theresa Long welcomed new and returning students with excitement. “Every new school year is an opportunity to recommit to our mission, and this year our students will benefit from refreshed facilities, expanded course offerings, and enhanced technology that supports teaching and learning. At MMI, we are intentional about creating an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. From new electives to investments in student spaces, every upgrade we make reflects our belief that students deserve the best preparation for college and life. We’re so excited to welcome our students back to campus, and are grateful for our families who are a part of our community and recognize the true value of an MMI education.”
The Class of 2026 set the tone for an incredible year with a Senior Sunrise Celebration. The seniors gathered outside to chat and play games before greeting the rest of the students with pom poms, homemade signs, and infectious energy. All students were then greeted by a Welcome Back Balloon Arch and were given a free cookie as an extra treat.

At an assembly to start the day, the community celebrated the Class of 2026, the new sixth-grade Class of 2032, and other new students. Staffing changes for the new year include: Mrs. Jennifer Novotney being named Academic Dean, Mr. Kyle Falatko ’18 being named Director of the Joseph A.
