Boys’ Basketball

The boys’ mid-school basketball team has had solid seasons the past few years.  In 2015-2016, the team finished 4th in the regular season of the Anthracite League, which is comprised of several Hazleton Area middle school teams and Holy Family, and qualified for the playoffs.  The team lost a hard fought semi-final playoff game, but the season was still one of the best in Preppers mid-school basketball history. In the 2019-2020 school year, the team merged with Holy Family Academy and played as H&M.  This year, the team is back to playing as MMI and is coached by MMI Alum Cory Rogers ’15.

Girls’ Basketball

The Lady Preppers compete in the very competitive Anthracite League which includes several Hazleton middle schools and Holy Family.  In 2019-2020, the girls’ middle school team was part of a co-op with Holy Family Academy and played under the name H&M. This year, the middle school team is coached by MMI Varsity Coach, Terry Hartz.

The team plays a 12-game regular season in the WVC Junior High League.  The team will have a lot of new faces but should have plenty of competitive softball experience.  They are looking forward to an exciting season and to improve with each game.
