The purpose of the Assembly program is to help students develop public speaking skills and build confidence needed to create interesting, engaging, and well-designed presentations.  Students develop assembly-style presentations in one of the following areas:

  • Intellectual Interest — Teaches the audience about a topic they are passionate about or proficient in.
  • Demonstration — Shows the audience how to do something.
  • Classwork/Academic Competition Extension — Builds upon a project from an academic course or extra-curricular activity such as Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, Future Business Leaders of America, and others.
  • Personal Growth Story — Shares a personal growth experience with the audience.

Students who score the highest go on to be named Best of the Best in their grade level.
