In 2024, the MMI Board of Directors proudly introduced the creation of the Distinguished Young Alumni Awards, a new initiative aimed at honoring the outstanding achievements of our alumni under the age of 30 who have made significant contributions to their professions and communities.

The inaugural ceremony for these awards was held on August 2, 2024 with 10 recipients being honored at a dinner celebration and kicking off a new tradition at MMI. Going forward, this ceremony will be held biennially, alternating with the Wall of Fame Awards Dinner as part of MMI’s Alumni Weekend celebrations. The next Distinguished Young Alumni Dinner will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Nominations for these awards are open now and will be accepted until the submission deadline of Monday, March 2, 2026. We invite nominations from all sources within our community including from parents, friends, employers, and self-nominations.

Nominations should include a resume or CV and a letter of nomination, not exceeding 500 words. This letter should succinctly summarize the nominee’s achievements and provide insights into their qualifications, highlighting any personal perspectives not readily apparent in their resume. Additionally, attachments such as reference letters, LinkedIn profiles, or articles showcasing the nominee’s work and community impact are highly encouraged.

To ensure a fair and rigorous selection process, the Distinguished Young Alumni Awards Committee is comprised of eight members including the Chair of the MMI Board of Directors, the Head of School, a current Board member, the Director of Advancement, the Director of College Counseling, two alumni representatives, and one at-large member. The Committee will recommend a slate of six to ten awardees to the MMI Board of Directors for approval.
