At MMI, our athletic department plays an integral role within the school community to support the physical, moral, and emotional development of our students.

Middle School Sports

Prepper mid-school athletics include baseball, boys basketball, girls basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, and cheerleading.

Upper School Sports

Upper school sports include baseball, boys basketball, girls basketball, cheerleading, boys tennis, cross country, soccer, softball, girls tennis, and volleyball.

The character of our students is the foundation of our excellence as a school, and character development through competition is the focus of our athletic program. We strive and are committed to promoting the ideals of sportsmanship, respect, leadership, integrity, and teamwork.

MMI has 17 different teams in 9 different sports. We are one of 18 members in the Wyoming Valley Conference and a member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA), the governing body that oversees high school athletics in grades 7-12.

In late 2025, the PIAA changed their rules regarding Charter School, Cyber School, Private School, and Private Faith-Based School Student Populations and their eligibility for sports at the District Level. The PIAA encourages co-op agreements, but in the event a co-op is not available, students who wish to participate in sports NOT offered by MMI are eligible to try out for those sports at the district in which they reside. MMI cannot guarantee a spot on the roster or playing time at the home district school, but this option is now available to students who wish to play a sport not offered by MMI.  All discussions about co-op agreements must take place at the Athletic Director level, and students who wish to try out for sports not offered at MMI should discuss their sports opportunities with the Athletic Director in advance.
