English Riding Supply, Inc. has contributed $50,000 to MMI Preparatory School in Freeland through the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, which funds need-based scholarships at the school.

“English Riding Supply continues to partner with MMI to support the EITC program. We appreciate the company’s annual contributions to this program, which represent its commitment to provide an affordable, outstanding education to local students,” said MMI Head of School Thomas G. Hood.

English Riding Supply Vice President John Logerfo said, “Our company is pleased, once again, to assist MMI Preparatory School and its students and families as we support the region through programs such as EITC.”

As an approved scholarship organization, MMI is able to receive contributions through the EITC program, which the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development administers.

Businesses that donate to MMI are eligible to receive tax credits amounting to 75 percent of their charitable contribution for a one-year period. The tax credit increases to 90 percent if the company commits to making the same donations for two consecutive years. A business paying taxes in Pennsylvania can receive up to $400,000 in tax credits annually. Donations of any amount are eligible for the tax credit.
