MMI held the seventh annual Jake Kislan ’56 Memorial Golf Tournament Friday, June 19 at the Valley Country Club in Sugarloaf.

A record 112 total golfers competed in the event, which was sold out for the second year in a row.

The team of Neal DeAngelo, III ’01, Bob Gorski, John Hogan, and Shawn Menon ’01captured first place in the first flight with a score of 55. Second place in the first flight, which was determined by a match of cards, went to the team of Foster Dale, Pat Genetti, Alan Rood, and Jamie Sgarlat with a 58.

First place in the second flight was also determined by a match of cards and went to Craig Bonham, Melissa Bonham, Glenn Boyer, and Andrea Boyer with a score of 73. Second-place winners in the second flight were Bob Bencal ’64, Brandon Bencal, Chris Marsch, and Chip Seidel.

Closest to pin went to Casey McCoy ’13 and Brian Harman. Jessica Herness ’01 had the women’s longest drive, Menon had the men’s longest drive, Sgarlat had the most accurate drive, Pat Burke won the putting contest, and George Palermo ’18 won the marshmallow driving contest.

PNC Bank was the tournament’s Eagle Sponsor, and Dryfoos Insurance Agency and Grange Insurance was the Birdie Sponsor. The tournament supports athletics and student-athletes at MMI. It was renamed in 2009 in honor of MMI alumnus Jake Kislan, a standout baseball and basketball player who passed away in 2008. In addition to his service to MMI, he aided the community by starting the Drifton Softball Complex and helping to bring the U.S. Olympic women’s fast-pitch team to Drifton in 1996.
