MMI Announces November Exploration Day and Entrance Exam

Parents and children invited to learn more about an MMI education at Exploration Day Event on Nov. 20

Parents and children are invited to learn more about an MMI education at the Exploration Day on Saturday, November 20 beginning at 9 a.m. on the MMI campus at 154 Centre Street in Freeland. Registration is required and space is limited.

MMI’s Exploration Day gives parents and students in grades 6 through 12 an opportunity to explore the school’s admissions process and meet other families who are also making an MMI decision.

Parents can learn about MMI’s smaller class sizes, personal attention, and co-curricular and extra-curricular options in athletics, the arts, and academics, as well as its well-rounded, college preparatory liberal arts education and Advanced Placement classes.

During Exploration Day, families will meet the MMI administration, learn about the curriculum and activities, tour the facility and ask questions, and meet current students.

The event will begin with students taking the MMI Entrance Exam.  Any student entering 6-11th grade in the fall of 2022 is eligible to test.  The exam will be followed by a brief tour with a few classroom stops along the way.

MMI Head of School Justin Kleinheider said, “The past two years have been interesting to say the least. We are very happy to be able to welcome visitors to campus. Exploration Day is an excellent way for families to see first-hand what MMI has to offer students by way of a quality, in-person education enhanced by a wide variety of athletic, extra-curricular, and co-curricular programs. Our goal is to produce versatile and adaptable graduates who are ready for wherever life takes them after high school graduation. Our students find themselves challenged in every classroom, playing field, and laboratory. The center of the MMI community is a partnership between parents, students, and faculty. Our role is to prepare students for the journey ahead, which we accomplish by learning and helping each other. When you join the MMI community, you will feel empowered by the resources for you and your child.”

MMI offers need-based tuition assistance for those who believe they may need help with tuition. Need-based assistance is determined by an application through FACTS Grant & Aid which must be completed by the scheduled testing date.

Currently, more than 53 percent of MMI students receive some form of need-based tuition assistance. The school offers generous tuition assistance packages to qualified families, provides merit aid for exceptionally gifted students, offers a work-study program, provides options for payment plans, and collaborates with an outside firm to arrange for low-interest student loans.
