Students in MMI English instructor Jennifer Novotney’s creative writing and advanced creative writing courses held their annual Halloween Scary Story Contest.

Senior Lauren Toscano and junior Dillon Merenich tied for first place in this year’s competition. Students read the stories anonymously out loud and then chose the scariest stories.

The winners received a prize of a brand new book and an assortment of treats. Toscano and Merenich will have their stories published in this year’s issue of Angst, MMI’s Literary Magazine.
