The 2025–2026 school year marks the inaugural season of Boys Volleyball at MMI, expanding the Upper School athletics offerings with a program built on development, growth, and competition. In its first year, the team will focus on introducing athletes to the sport while progressively building skills from fundamental techniques to more advanced play. The goal is to establish a strong foundation that will support the program’s growth into a competitive presence within the Wyoming Valley Conference of PIAA District II, where the team will compete on an 11-game schedule.
Leading the program is Head Coach Shawn Evans, who also serves as head coach of the MMI Girls Volleyball program and brings extensive experience and familiarity with both the School and the sport. Joining Coach Evans is Gianna Moisey-Hoover ’23, a former MMI volleyball student-athlete and alumna of the girls program, who has been named Assistant Coach. Together, the coaching staff is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the court as the program establishes its identity in this inaugural season.
