MMI Relay for Life 2014-0001

A team from MMI participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, which benefits the Greater Hazleton Unit of the ACS.

Team members were Ed Herbener (captain), Cory Rogers, Jesse Plaksa, Andrew Alday, Angel Alday and Lauren Babinetz. Faculty member Grete DeAngelo chaperoned the team.

Herbener said the team raised nearly $350. “The Relay For Life experience is great. You get to remember your loved ones, friends, or people you know who have battled the fight against cancer and raise money to put an end to cancer. So, it’s a very special event to be a part of!” he said.

To raise money for Relay, team members organized a daffodil sale fundraiser at MMI this spring. They hope to expand the team and fundraising next year.
