It is a result of the tremendous generosity of the extended MMI family – parents, alumni, grandparents, and friends – that our school has continued to flourish and evolve since its founding in 1879. The careful stewardship of our Board of Directors and the collective financial backing of all of the school’s constituencies have enabled MMI to grow over the last century while ensuring its long-term fiscal health. MMI is a registered 501(c)(3) and under Internal Revenue Service guidelines, the full amount of your gift is a deductible contribution.
One of the most important gifts that an individual can make is to the Annual Fund. Your gift will have an immediate impact and benefit today's students! Donations can be made to one of six areas of support or “in memory of” or “in honor of” an individual on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or significant life event. Gifts of securities and gifts-in-kind (non-cash gifts) are also gratefully received.
Endowed gifts to MMI support student scholarships and bold programmatic initiatives. Currently, MMI has 45 endowed scholarships which exist in perpetuity. Income from these funds is used to support need-based financial aid to current MMI students each and every year. There are also 14 Endowed Funds which are used annually to support student programs, upgrade and maintain facilities, and ensure the professional development of MMI’s faculty, administration and staff.
Pennsylvania businesses can take part in the state's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship (OSTC) Programs which allow businesses to take a tax credit for up to 90% of a donation. In essence, it can cost a business less than a dime to donate a dollar!
Work of this importance requires substantial and ongoing support. Gifts to MMI empower us to hire the finest teachers, build and maintain the most up-to-date facilities and offer a range of other educational advantages.
