Atty. Devan A. McCarrie ’14

Wall of Fame Class of 2025

Devan McCarrie began building a distinguished athletic career long before she left MMI.

During her time here, she lettered in softball, tennis, and golf. In her junior year, she made history as the first female MMI golfer to qualify and medal in the district golf tournament, where she was named the 2013 AAA Girls Champion and District Medalist. Devan also earned All-League recognition in both golf and softball and was honored as MMI’s Most Improved Player in Golf.

This momentum carried her to Quinnipiac University, an NCAA Division I school in Hamden, Connecticut. While working towards a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Devan also poured her focus into golf. From 2016-2017, she served as Team Captain, leading her team to back-to-back MAAC Championships. For four consecutive years, from 2015-2018, she was named a MAAC All-American Scholar and Quinnipiac Scholar-Athlete.

Off the golf course, Devan showed her passion for the sport through leadership and advocacy. She became a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and served on the NCAA Legislation Committee. Representing Quinnipiac at the annual MAAC SAAC Conference in Orlando, Devan contributed to NCAA policy discussions and legislative votes, ensuring the voices of her peers were heard.

After her time at Quinnipiac, Devan pursued her J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law School. She earned spots on the Dean’s List from the fall of 2018 through the spring of 2021, culminating in her graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Today, Devan is an associate at Saul Ewing LLP’s Wilmington, Delaware office. She focuses her practice on general litigation and matters involving complex corporate and commercial disputes in both state and federal courts. She is admitted to practice law in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Outside of work, Devan still makes time to hit the golf course and connect with the sport that was such a large part of her high school and college careers.
