Tuition Reset
Affordable by Design. Transformative by Nature.

For nearly 147 years, MMI Preparatory School has remained true to the vision of our founders, Sophia G. and Eckley B. Coxe, who believed that exceptional education should be accessible to the families of our region. Their mission—to open doors, strengthen community, and create pathways to better opportunities—continues to guide us today.
After reviewing market data on household income and recognizing that nearly 40% of families required significant tuition discounts, MMI took a bold step to realign tuition with the economic realities of the community we were built to serve.
Beginning next year:
- Grades 7–12 tuition will reset from $17,150 to $14,350
- Grade 6 tuition will reset from $15,110 to $10,000
This tuition reset reflects our unwavering commitment to access. It restores the affordability our founders intended and ensures that more students can benefit from an inspiring, comprehensive college-preparatory education that develops both academic excellence and strong character.
For generations, MMI has transformed lives. Today, we’re making sure that transformation remains within reach.

Tuition assistance is a big part of how MMI maintains our ability to make our education accessible to anyone who is interested. As is our current policy, we will review all applications for need-based tuition assistance based on the new tuition amounts for the 2026-2027 school year and provide assistance in accordance with our already established guidelines. We will continue to use FACTS Management to vet all applicants and your award may remain the same, increase, or decrease depending on your demonstrated need.
MMI will continue to provide the same quality education our community has relied on for 146 years. The reset allows us to manage our net tuition while ensuring access to the academic, athletic, and extra-curricular options we have available now.
The tuition assistance program is funded in large part by the generosity of donors who have given to MMI with the idea to be able to make MMI affordable. They will continue to donate and we will continue to offer tuition assistance to anyone who needs it.

What Parents Say
MMI is an absolutely amazing school. Between the teachers, head of School, dean of students, guidance counselor and everyone else. My only regret is I wish I started my son there in 6th grade so he could’ve experienced it longer. He absolutely loves going to school now. How they prepare them for college and beyond is 2nd to none. I highly recommend MMI.
