Jennifer Gerhard joined the MMI Faculty as the Music Director in the 2023-2024 academic year. Ms. Gerhard spent 13 years in the Hazleton Area School District as an instructor in chorus and instrumental music and served as the Assistant High School Band director for 5 years. While at HASD, she maintained active member status in several professional organizations including the Pennsylvania Music Education Association (PMEA), National Association for Music Education (NaFME) and the Women Band Directors International (WBDA). Before joining HASD, she served as an Instrumental Music Director in the Archdiocese of Washington DC. She continues to serve as the Music Ministry Director at St. John Bosco Church in Conyngham, PA, the Advocacy Representative for PMEA District 9, is a board member of the Hazleton Concert Series, and an active member of the Drums Lioness Lions Club, where she serves as the club secretary. Ms. Gerhard is currently pursuing her Masters in Educational Technology from Wilkes University and holds a BS in Music Education from Elizabethtown College. She is an avid Washington Capitals fan and enjoys baking, reading, and quality time at the gym or walking outdoors. She resides in Sugarloaf with her three rescued fur babies: Maggie Mae, Lola, and Auggie.
