Two MMI Preparatory School seniors will be featured on WVIA-TV Artist of the Week segments and are among the finalists for the WVIA Artist of the Year award.

Allison Warner-Senape and Charles Bower visited the WVIA studios in Pittston to record a one-minute Artist of the Week piece that will appear on WVIA-TV from November 8-14 and online at www.wvia.org for a year.

Warner-Senape, the daughter of James Senape and Kimberly Warner-Senape of White Haven, will present a five-piece acrylic series depicting seascapes entitled Take Me Back during her interview.

Bower, the son of Steven and Tracy Tichy of Drums, will perform the Billy Joel and Ray Charles duet “Baby Grand” and Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire” on his segment.

The Artist of the Week program features two students, one each in visual and performing arts, from high schools throughout northeast and central Pennsylvania who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in visual arts, theatre, music, or dance. The students are then entered in the running for the Artist of the Year award which is announced during WVIA’s Scholastic Achievement Awards Show in May.

The competition is open to students in grades 10 through 12.
