MMI Preparatory School presented athletic awards to students during the school’s Awards Convocation held recently.

The awards were presented by MMI Athletic Director Jason Tribbet, Assistant Head of School Charles Seidel and team coaches. Teams recognized Most Improved Players, Most Valuable Players and Coaches’ Award Recipients.

Award recipients were as follows:

Baseball: MVP, Charles Karchner; Most Improved, Sam Harman; Coaches’ Award, Alec Andes.

Boys’ Basketball: MVPs, Charles Karchner and RJ Kupsho; Coaches’ Award, Michael Sarno.

Girls’ Basketball: MVP, Rachel Stanziola; Most Improved, Kryslyn Postupack; Coaches’ Award, Kristen Purcell.

Girls’ Soccer: MVP, Mikayla Dove; Most Improved, Alyssa Famalette; Coaches’ Award, Sarah Moyer.

Boy’s Cross Country: Most Valuable Runner, CJ Snyder; Most Improved Runner, Luke Yamulla; Coaches’ Award, Patrick Driscoll.

Girls’ Cross Country: Most Valuable Runner, Karalyn Sitch; Most Improved Runner, Erin Sari; Coaches’ Award, Sukanya Kansara.

Golf: MVP, Sam Harman; Most Improved, Devan McCarrie; Coaches’ Award, Emily Morrison. McCarrie was recognized for earning recognition as the Wyoming Valley Golf League 2013 AAA Girls’ Medalist at the Pre-District Tournament.

Boys’ Soccer: MVP, James Gabrielle; Most Improved, TJ Jankouskas; Coaches’ Award, Austin Muir.

Softball: MVP, Kristen Purcell; Most Improved, Emily Morrison; Coaches’ Award, Rachel Stanziola.

Boys’ Tennis: MVP, Jonathan Smith; Most Improved, Llewellyn Dryfoos; Coaches’ Award, Michael Eisenhart.

Girls’ Tennis: MVP, Stephanie Pudish; Most Improved, Jessica Smith; Coaches’ Award, Stephanie Pudish.

Girls’ Volleyball: MVP, Kristen Purcell; Most Improved, Paige Darrow; Coaches’ Award, Emily Bogansky.

The District 2 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Award was presented to Kristen Purcell and Charles Karchner. The award is for students who have participated in MMI’s athletic program for multiple years, maintained high academic averages and are involved in community and school service.

Other awards and varsity letters were presented during each team’s end-of-the-year banquet.
