Mr. Timothy Garvey came to MMI in 2014 after having been an instructor at cyber and physical schools including k12 Corporation Online, Agora Cyber Charter School, Wilson Area School District, Holy Name High School, Minersville High School and Lebanon High School. He has taught all levels of Physics, including AP Physics, in addition to courses such as meteorology, earth science, general science, physical science and environmental science. He also served as a scientific analysis technician for the FBI. Mr. Garvey has announced that he will be retiring at the conclusion of the 2024-25 academic year.
“Bringing enthusiasm to the subject matter, I engage my students and foster a classroom environment that promotes independent thinking and that spawns personal growth. I use multiple teaching strategies to incorporate different learning styles and conduct hands-on labs with my students,” Garvey said.
At MMI, Mr. Garvey teaches Earth Science, Physics and AP Physics. He also serves as both the girls and boys Varsity Tennis Coach and was an Assistant Cross Country Coach also. Mr. Garvey resides in Auburn with his wife, Alyssa, and family.
